This book is intended to be a beginners’ guide to the art of computer programming, therefore no previous programming experience is required and mathematics skills are limited to basic high school algebra.
Only the essential procedural elements of the Visual Basic for Applications language are introduced. These, however, constitute the basis of each type of computer programming.
This is not a newborn text, it is based on two previous editions used in many first-year academic courses. More than a thousand students have used it in the last 5 years and provided valuable feedback on what needed improvement.
It is tailored to teacher-assisted courses, but its many notes, tips, and solutions to all exercises make it suitable for self-study students as well.
